Sometimes life'smost simple pleasures make the strongest impression, like shopping at an outdoor market or sipping coffee at a street cafe. Wendy Johnson creates her artwork this way. Siimple subjects, shapes and colors to create the essence of the "joie de vie". Time spent in Provence and Tuscany by Johnson has enabled her to readily transport the viewer to these lands of quaint villages. In 1990, Johnson opened Salon des Arts and the South of France atelier in the burgeoning artists colony of Newport Beach. Her paintings hang in private and corporate collections in the United States and Europe.
